The entrance to The Forbidden City.

One of the many guards outside the Forbidden City.

Inside the first square of the Forbidden City.

Inside the second square of the Forbidden City.

It started raining and everyone ran inside one of the buildings. The buildings were full of display cases of stuff like we saw at all the other museum kind of places on this trip.

Inside the third square the floor had all the old brings that were wearing down. It was beautiful to the old stones and to walk across what was originally walked across.

This strange dragon-turtle was outside one of the buildings.

Inside another square of the Forbidden City.

A view of the Throne Room.

Another throne room.

Another room in the palace as it would have been used.

Another room as it would have been used.

Yet another room as it would have been used.

A palace bedroom.

Inside the roof of a garden gazebo.

Inside the roof of another garden gazebo.

A rock wall in the garden.

Moat around the Forbidden City.

Many people wanted their picture with the foreigners (us). Here a boy stood with us while his father took our picture.

These girls wanted their picture with us. Being white made us a novelty. I found it so weird to be a novelty rather than the majority/the norm.
